The Effect of Innovation on Employment: An ARDL Bounds Testing Approach for Turkey

Since the acceleration of technological advancements, many studies have been done in economics literature on direction and extent relationship between innovation employment. The findings these indicate that there is no unanimity among researchers an innovation-employment relationship. Based annual data for 1990-2018 period, this paper investigates effect employment Turkish economy using ARDL bounds testing approach. results obtained from analysis show exports high-tech products, R&D expenditures, changes number firms positively affect employment, whereas, contrary to expectations, domestic patent applications seems it negatively.
